A Petite Inspiration of French

Daydreaming in French today and seeing myself as a chic young lady walking the streets of Paris, eating a chocolate croissant on my way to an art class or a job in a petite hole in the wall boutique. Alas maybe someday - till then a girl can dream. In the mean time here is a visual interpretation to tide me over.

A (Paper) Crown Fit for a Fashion Queen

I hate to admit it but years ago when The Hills first premiered on MTV I - much like the rest of the female population - became addicted. Out of all the crazy drama girls Lauren Conrad seemed to be the only one who was actually normal. She was that cool chick you could grab a drink with and gossip about fashion. Over the years fashionistas alike followed and copied her evolving style through the gossip and fashion magazines making her a new kind of modern style icon. A couple of books and a Kohl's clothing line later and the girl has fully cemented her status as a bona-fide fashion icon.

Her new line - Paper Crown - is the epitomy of downtown chic. Basic staples make up the collection - with well tailored boyfriend blazers, flowy maxi dresses, sassy leather shorts, and loose silky tops - all so versatile that they are easily integrated within any wardrobe.

Fresh (Style)Mint

Dating back all the way to their Full House days, I've been a fan of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen for as long as I can remember. Over the years they have moved past the screen and become bonafide style icons establishing clothing lines Elizabeth and James, the Row and Textile Elizabeth and James. All beautifully designed brands that I covet and aspire to own.

Their newest venture, StyleMint, is a t-shirt line - but not just any t-shirt line. Slouchy, comfy and oversized. These are the tees that all it girls want to wear.

The process is pretty simple. The website creates a personalized style profile for you and from that recommends tees based on your particular style. Every month you receive an email introducing you to brand new styles so you don't have to keep checking back. It's like having your own personalized stylist who is already in tune with what you like. The best part - each t-shirt is only $29.99.

Below are some styles that were recommended for me based on my personalized style profile.

Find of the Day: Aldo Camel Handbag

Camel Handbag, Aldo

Todays find of the day is a handbag from Aldo. It's a versatile and classic style that just happens to be the perfect size for the girl on the go. The color is a rich camel that is trended to be huge this Fall.

Blaze(r) a (Nude) Trail

Fall is just around the corner and the weather already seems to think so. After a carefree summer of bright colors, floral prints and distressed boyfriend shorts I'm ready to streamline and embrace a more muted color palate.

One of my favorite trends for fall, that's a staple still going strong, is the boyfriend blazer. Mostly we've seen it in the basic black worn by celebrities and local fashionistas alike, but for fall mix it up a little by trying one on in a navy.

Navy Blazer, Zara

Paired with a neutral color palate such as khaki, cream and a light gray and it pops creating a great statement for fall. Lighter shades of camel are the best hues for fall and will wear really well throughout the season. Replace the bright summer florals with more muted shades for a transitional look into the season while still keeping it whimsical. Paired with a great pair of brown boots and you've got a stylish casual outfit.
